​About Dr. Horita:

​“For the past 12 years, I have served as an Army Psychiatrist providing care and consultations to individuals, couples, families, command units, schools, colleagues and other military and civilian agencies.  Through this experience, I have come to appreciate the importance of the family unit and its equivalent in the success of the individual.  Joining The Kahala Clinic for Children and Families, with their emphasis on family-centered approach, have allowed me to continue to pursue this personal and professional conviction.”

 

Prior to joining the team of physicians at The Kahala Clinic for Children & Family in 2018, Dr. Horita served as the Division Psychiatrist for the U.S. Army’s 25th Infantry Division based at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii from 2016-2018.  She was a staff faculty at Tripler Army Medical Center (TAMC) from 2015-2016.  Prior to that, she was the Deputy Chief of the Department of Behavioral Health Services, and Chief of the Adult, Child, and Adolescent Outpatient Health Services at Brian Allgood Army Community Hospital in Seoul, Republic of Korea from 2013-2015.

Dr. Horita received her medical degree from Western University of Health Science, College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific in 2007.  She completed her General Psychiatry Residency Program in 2011, followed by a Fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in 2013 at TAMC.
